ABSTRACT

REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION WORLD – ANALYSIS AND NEW TECHNIQUES FOR KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE AND COOPERATION BETWEEN REGIONS AND CITIES


The action aims to put together research and researchers of different fields which are close to land planning, urban economy, computing and information systems. The aim is to cooperate and build a network of knowledge exchange to prepare cities and regions for new models of land management using modern technologies. These involve building networks based on computer tools, portals, network architectures, multi services, supporting local communities, building databases for experts that can be great source of information for local municipals as well for investors and citizens.

Such actions can have a great influence on regional development, especially for regions that are still not successful enough in developing potential through the new technologies. Through the Internet we can bring together a new generation of people, giving them new goals, possibilities and chances for fruitful and special lives.
